Something Iconic

Spectacular settings, with celebrations crafted by the experts.

The Royal Exchange is a London landmark. Steeped in the city’s rich history of trade, tradition and royalty, it’s the setting for a wedding day like no other. The Exchange is also home to two of the country’s leading experts in throwing parties. Fortnum & Mason has been a staple of British culture for over three centuries, and award-winning outfit The Libertine has risen to become the most exciting new establishment in the City. Between them, you’ve everything you need to curate a boutique wedding day that reflects your own unique style.

Fortnum’s wedding license means you are able to tie the knot within the iconic Royal Exchange courtyard itself. Known for playing host to actors and royalty, the brand’s bespoke approach to planning ensures a day that is individual, distinctive — and totally you. Its dedicated events team will craft a wedding for up to two hundred guests that can include a civil ceremony, pre-dinner drinks and canapés reception, a seated dinner, as well as floral arrangements and keepsake gifts.

When it comes to catering, “food is our passion,” says the retailer, “and dining our speciality. Your menu will be at the very heart of your planning.” Before the day arrives, you’ll be treated to a complimentary tasting by Fortnum’s in-house chefs. “Expect menus focussed on seasonal ingredients from long-established suppliers to Fortnum’s.” Alongside this, you’ll be guided through the world’s wines in Fortnum & Mason’s famous cellars: “we always source bottles perfect for your wedding.”

Under vaulted arches which once guarded the spices, silks and gold that enriched London in years gone by sits The Libertine, “a chamber of spirited revelry.” These Grade-I-listed rooms have been reimagined with award-winning designs — and brim with an energy that makes for a most excellent reception party. Room for up to 450 guests, bespoke 3-5 course menus, flawless hospitality and contemporary decor make The Libertine a choice option. Specialising in hedonistic indulgence (and hidden, in the brand’s words, “away from prying eyes”) this is a space that can be customised as you wish, with the option for live music, staging, DJs, state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment — and, of course, a dancefloor.
