What’s new this March
It’s an exciting month for The Royal Exchange, with International Women’s Day activity, two new exhibitions, product launches and our first-ever dating event
FREE SPIRITS
Whisky specialist Tomoka Fine & Rare is hosting a luxury whisky tasting evening on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 March – where you will have the chance to sample five whiskies worth over £1,200 in total! During the evening, which will be held at Tomoka’s intimate tasting room, a representative from each brand will join virtually to talk guests through the individual drams and the stories behind them. Gin more your thing? Later in the month – on 24 March – Tomoka will also be hosting a gin tasting event, which will include a selection of fine gins, tonics and garnishes to sample.
The whisky tasting event will take place between 6.30pm-8pm at Tomoka Fine & Rare at The Royal Exchange. Tickets cost £59 each and are available to purchase through Eventbrite. Tickets for the gin tasting event coming soon.
RUNNING CIRCLES
In a first for The Royal Exchange, we have teamed up with award-winning dating app Inner Circle to host an extravagant one-off socialising evening on Wednesday 30 March. The event is open to around 300 members of Inner Circle – and tickets are selling like hotcakes! Hopeful singletons will enjoy a night of drinking, dining and fabulous entertainment in the form of a DJ set, sax player duo, burlesque show and magic tricks, with welcome cocktails and canapés from Fortnum & Mason.

LOVE THE CITY
Get your culture fix at The Royal Exchange this month with an exclusive exhibition from Instagram duo Pretty Little London. We asked the Italian-born, London-based influencers to take snaps of The Royal Exchange and surrounding areas to create an exhibition as part of our Love The City campaign. The result is a series of beautiful imagery of recognisable landmarks and hidden gems. You can catch the photographs dotted around the courtyard of The Royal Exchange until 8 March – and don’t forget to check out our Instagram feed @theroyalexchange for an exclusive competition to win one of the prints.
BECAUSE THE NIGHT
The romance and beauty of twilight is the inspiration behind a dreamy new collection from Jo Malone London. As the company’s global head of fragrance, Céline Roux explains: ‘I’ve always thought that there is something fascinating about the transition from daytime to night-time… Whether you’re going out or nestling in at home, those are the moments when you can truly start to relax, to escape and to dream.’ The Night Collection is designed to create a calm and magical mood with two different varieties – Lavender & Moonflower and Moonlit Camomile – available in pillow mists, candles, colognes and diffusers.
Prices vary. Discover the Night Collection for yourself in-store from 8 March at Jo Malone London at The Royal Exchange.
GET SMART
French patisserie Ladurée has partnered with London-based charity Smart Works, which helps women gain confidence and secure employment. To raise vital funds for the charity, Ladurée will donate 10 per cent of its daily retail and online sales taken on International Women’s Day on 8 March to Smart Works. What’s more, Ladurée has created a special bespoke gift box, the Women’s Day Smart Works Box, featuring Napoleon III-inspired decoration and a mix of 8 macarons, some featuring the Smart Works logo and icons. For every box sold, Ladurée will donate £2 to Smart Works. A fantastic way to show your solidarity with women this month.
£26, available from 1-26 March in-store at Ladurée at The Royal Exchange and online.
ART OF THE MATTER
Also commemorating International Women’s Day is Red Eight Gallery, who is launching a campaign and exhibition with artist Lisa Thomson all about female empowerment. Intimacy explores themes of fragility and resilience, inspired by important women in Thomson’s life as well as iconic females throughout history. A private view for buyers will take place at Red Eight Gallery on Thursday 10 March from 6pm-9pm and the exhibition will run until 25 March.

ON THE ROCKS
As well as International Women’s Day, we also have Mother’s Day at the end of March. The Royal Exchange has curated a special gift guide full of bright ideas (which you’ll find here) but, if you want to tell a special woman in your life just how much they mean to you, fine jeweller Tateossian suggests doing so with diamonds. Not just any old diamonds, but the striking and irregular black and white diamonds that make up Tateossian’s Pebble edit. These beautifully crafted earrings, necklace and rings are made from sterling silver with a fluid crossover pattern studded with sparkling black and white diamonds. A real treasure.
Prices vary, discover unique jewellery as well as an engraving services at Tateossian at The Royal Exchange.
