WHAT’S NEW THIS JUNE
From Exclusive Editions to commemorate our 450th anniversary to a new fine wine bar and boutique, The Royal Exchange is brimming with activity
EXCLUSIVE EDITIONS

To commemorate The Royal Exchange celebrating its 450th anniversary this year, a number of our resident luxury brands will stock an Exclusive Edition product, available only from their Royal Exchange boutique. A number of brands have created a special edition product especially for the occasion, with the Gresham Grasshopper – a motif from the family crest of the late Sir Thomas Gresham, who founded The Royal Exchange, and which appears as a golden weather vane atop the building – appearing as a symbol across an array of designs.
The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant will serve a complimentary Grasshopper cocktail to anyone who purchases an Exclusive Edition item. Simply present your receipt of purchase to your waiter.* Click here to discover more about The Royal Exchange Exclusive Editions from Aspinal of London, Boodles, Fortnum & Mason, Georg Jensen, Ladurée, Montblanc, Ron Dorff, Smythson, Tateossian and Tom Davies Bespoke Opticians.
* Offer is valid from 1-30 June 2021.
DAD’S THE WORD

We’re also celebrating Father’s Day this month, on Sunday 20 June. And with social gatherings back on the agenda, what a special occasion it will be. Be it a piece of jewellery from Tateossian’s new Signature Lock collection, a pair of shades from Tom Davies or some stylish menswear from Sirplus, take a token of appreciation with you to show Dad how thoughtful you are, and make him feel extra special. See our Father’s Day Gift Guide for more ideas on how to make Dad’s day with a gift to accompany your visit.
JUST THE TIPPLE

Just in time for summer, The Royal Exchange welcomes fine wine bar and boutique OenoHouse, which will be opening on 25 June on the Royal Exchange passageway at the exterior of the building. Specialists in sourcing rare wines from around the world, OenoHouse invites wine connoisseurs and novices alike to come and learn more about the fascinating world of fine wine. There will be regular tasting events and takeovers from top wineries, as well as in-house experts who can advise you on wines for gifts, food pairings and even as an investment. You can, of course, also come to simply enjoy a delicious glass or two, inside or alfresco on the patio. Keep an eye on our boutiques and dining pages for details on how to make a reservation.
FUN IN THE SUN

New to the Fortnum & Mason boutique at The Royal Exchange is a stylish selection of picnicware in the brand’s iconic Eau de Nil colour – from an insulated bottle bag (pop it in the freezer the night before to keep your beverages nice and cool) to cool bags and picnic sets in a variety of shapes and sizes. Made from recycled materials, and with thick webbed straps that are comfortable to carry, this could be the season’s most must-have accessory.
The Royal Exchange Fortnum’s boutique is also stocking a tempting selection of rosé wines that are ideal for enjoying in the summer sunshine. From sparkling prosecco to a delicate Sancerre, you’ll be sure to discover a perfect accompaniment to your alfresco dining, be it an informal picnic or an elegant alfresco dinner party.
AROUND THE WORLD

Inspired by the great adventure novel Around the World in Eighty Days, Montblanc’s new collection of writing instruments celebrates this much revered novel, written by the French author Jules Verne and first published in 1872. The collection encompasses three editions of writing instruments – fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint – all of which feature intricate details inspired by lead character Phileas Fogg’s journey to circumnavigate the globe by steamboat.
Ocean blue coloured precious resin, engraved silver wave patterns and lacquered card suit symbols (Fogg passes his time playing the card game Whist while on board) come together to create a beautiful keepsake that is sure to enthral fans of the book and aesthetes alike. Other items in Montblanc’s Around the World in Eighty Days collection include a Summit Lite smart watch, embossed leather notebook, calfskin bracelet, cufflinks and a special edition ink, inspired by the blue of the Mediterranean Sea.

CONSCIOUS COLLECTION

Liven up your summer wardrobe guilt-free with a piece from Aspinal of London’s new Story 2 collection, which introduces upcycled materials and metal-free and carbon-offset leathers to its fashionable range of accessories. Colourful pieces including phone and AirPod cases, handbags and tote bags are inspired by the natural beauty and wildlife of the National Park of the West Sussex Downs, home to Aspinal of London’s headquarters.
Covetable colours, from vibrant Chalkhill blue and Meadow yellow to earthy tones such as Storm grey and Khaki green, are inspired by the Sussex countryside, which has also inspired Aspinal of London to establish the Aspinal Bee Foundation and donate a percentage of sales to the South Downs National Park’s Bee Lines project. Both initiatives strive to protect these endangered pollinators and help to replenish the declining wildflowers of the grasslands, in order to provide the best environment for bees and butterflies to flourish and thrive.
