Their story begins in the middle of the 19^th century with Pierre Desfontaines, who had the idea of the double-decker macaron, sandwiching these delicate, almond-based shells together with a creamy, ganache filling. To this day Ladurée continues to innovate, with the confection available in a dazzling array of flavours to suit any taste. These range from tried-and-tested classics including chocolate, pistachio and vanilla to intriguing combinations, such as almond and lucuma and green tea with moringa.
