LONDONERS ON LOVE: Arthur
Software engineer Arthur tells us #WhatLoveIs to him
We took to the streets surrounding The Royal Exchange to ask the City community to share their thoughts on the topic of love. In this special series, we find out #WhatLoveIs to Londoners today.
ARTHUR, 34, SOFTWARE ENGINEER
“I agreed to let my girlfriend adopt two cats even though I didn’t want the hassle of having a pet. It’s probably the most loving thing I’ve ever done for another person, and the most loving thing another person has done for me: she persuaded me to get cats, knowing how happy they would make me. Luckily for all of us it worked out well and they’ve made our house a home. Love is fun! It’s scary relying on somebody else, but love is epitomised by feeling completely connected to someone and not being able to imagine your life without them, while at the same time realising and respecting their autonomy and independence. I probably say ‘I love you’ every day. I last said it to my girlfriend this morning just because I was saying goodbye for the day.”
