Heritage And Craft
Two stunning new collections from Boodles and Georg Jensen.
Two stunning new releases from British jewellers Boodles and Scandinavian design house Georg Jensen celebrate history and craftsmanship. Boodles turns to royal heritage for inspiration, “drawing on the history, artistry and grandeur of six of the world’s most remarkable palaces.” Georg Jensen’s Weft Collection marks a return to the brand’s roots, both in design and its founding material, silver. “Composed of hand-hooked links woven around an internal chain, the pieces draw on archival motifs to create modern jewellery that balances meticulous construction with a sense of movement,” the house explains.

Like the brand’s collaboration with the National Gallery, this new partnership foregrounds Boodles’ view of jewellery as art. The jewellers notes that “the palaces are rich with extraordinary stories, extravagance and detail”; this sense of splendour defines the collection. A highlight is the Royal Porcelain Necklace, which evokes Queen Mary’s beloved blue-and-white porcelain through enamel, sapphires and white diamonds.
The art of weaving is an ancient one, and Georg Jensen draws on this enduring craft for its latest collection. Rooted in a simple strand of silver wire, Weft reimagines this signature motif from the house’s archive. Each link is individually formed, hand-connected and threaded onto an internal chain, resulting in jewellery that “creates a fluid and minimalist silhouette that moves naturally with the body.”
