Halloween

Welcome to Spooky Season.

October is the month of things that go bump in the night, of wickedness and witchery โ€” which makes it, of course, the most fun of all. Unleash your inner monster with these damnably good releases by our luxury brands, who have conjured up all manner of devilish surprises. From Fortnum’s hampers and Ladurรฉe macarons to a Beetlejuice collection by Tom Davies, give in to temptation this Halloween at The Royal Exchange.

Laduree

The hunt for treats is on with Ladurรฉe. “Whether you’re planning a hauntingly fun party or a night of trick-or-treating,” says the French patisserie, “our gift box is sure to make your Halloween memorable.” It’s not wrong. This sumptuous box is a decoration in its own right โ€” and infinitely more appealing, don’t you think, than the traditional carved pumpkin. “Immerse yourself in a taste experience that’s both refined and frightening” and choose from a wicked pick of the brand’s flavours: chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, raspberry, pistachio and lemon.

Get your Halloween off to a frightfully good start with a trip to Fortnum & Mason. Here at the Exchange, the store is stocked with all manner of wicked treats to create the perfect All Hallow’s Eve. Our favourite? It has to be the limited-edition Halloween Hamper. Begin by devouring the brandโ€™s delicious Toffee Apple Shortbread and make a diabolical pact with a box of the Pumpkin Face Iced Biscuits and ever-so-chocolatey Chocolossus.

Brew a hot cup of Toffee Apple Tea in your cauldron or make knees shake with the Gruesome Toothsome Sweet Treats. Serve up a frighteningly delicious selection of Halloween Tea Cakes and Cauldron Crunch, then bump off any troublesome party guests with monstrously moreish and fiery Luciferโ€™s Biscuits โ€” and finally, the survivors can wash down their fiendish feast with a goblet of the Fortnum’s Magnum Claret, Franciacorta Brut Champagne and Kah Tequila Blanco.

What’s more, between 15-17th of October 1-4pm, Fortnum’s famous “Tea Tuk” will be on the terrace at The Royal Exchange, giving complimentary samples of the hamper’s Toffee Apple Tea โ€” the perfect sweetener for your Halloween prep.

Dressing up isn’t just for parties. This year, Tom Davies Opticians’ new collab celebrates everyone’s favourite movie ghost: Beetlejuice. “Head into the store to turn heads โ€” literally,” says the designer, and “channel your inner ghoul with my official Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie sunglasses collection.” You won’t believe your eyes at this, the brand’s new team-up with Warner Brothers โ€” which has used some of Tom Davies’ frames in the movie itself. Sold with a beautiful Beetlejuice Beetlejuice presentation box and cleaning cloth, and complete with the iconic signature black-and-white stripes, these are a must for any long-time lover of the movie. But as Davies himself remarks: “You don’t even need to be a Beetlejuice fan to fall in love with these.” Quite.
