Feeling Lucky

The Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup and Bremont’s new good luck charm.

Friday 13th of March is the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup, a highlight in the UK’s sporting calendar. Each year the Cotswold Hills host the racing world’s glitterati for an event marked by its unique atmosphere and thrilling displays of equestrianism. Boodles is a longstanding sponsor of the schedule, and we’re taking the chance to spotlight the jewellers’ “Lucky” collection, not least as a talisman for those having a flutter. And for more good fortune, we’re delighted to unveil Bremont’s brand new Altitude MB Meteor Design, “Felix The Cat,” a celebration of aviators’ traditional cartoon good-luck charm.

Boodles explains how the Lucky collection was “designed to showcase the majestic nature of racehorses and the exhilarating moments of racing, a sport very close to Boodles’ heart.” Created for the centenary, the pieces are as bold and elegant as Cheltenham itself. We adore this “Gold Cup 100” pendant, set with 2.25 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds to capture all the thrill and magic of this one-of-a-kind event.

“Long regarded as a trusted good-luck charm for pilots,” Bremont explains, “Felix the Cat has symbolised courage and fearless adventure.” What better mascot, then, to salute Bremont’s deep roots in aviation? Playful and unique, whilst still designed with all of Bremont’s uncompromising skill in engineering, the Altitude MB Meteor “Felix the Cat” is a brand new performance-driven tool watch like no other.
