A Table With A View
Enjoy London al fresco, with the return of the Engel and Fortnum’s terraces.
On 7th of April, The Royal Exchange terraces re-open: welcoming warm, long evenings filled with spring light, fine drinks and good food. Sound good? Watch a magical London sunset while sipping a cocktail between our iconic pillars, or soak up the returning sunshine with an ice-cold stein of beer. And there’s more…on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Engel’s live music brings holiday energy, while plenty of other corners await for you to explore and unwind in.

“Spring has arrived, and with it, the Engel Terrace returns. Step back out into the sun and settle in,” Engel invites you. “Split across our upper and lower terraces, the Engel Terrace opens from 12noon to 9:00pm from Monday to Saturday for leisurely lunches, golden-hour drinks and music-filled evenings, all set against the grandeur of The Royal Exchange.”
2026 sees the beloved City hangout undergo a bit of a makeover. Its new look is pure spring energy — “think soft cushions, velvet blankets, and beautiful hydrangea flowers,” Engel explains. Returning are all the things that make this a London favourite, from luxury hot dogs to Jang’s iconic Korean Fried Chicken — and of course those foaming steins of ABK Beer.

The Fortnum & Mason portico terrace opens, too, with its exquisite menu of the British restaurant’s finest seasonal fare. “It’s the perfect place to pause,” says Fortnum’s, “for a celebratory moment in truly iconic surroundings.” There’s also the calm charm of Kiani Tea (for those seeking a respite from the City’s hustle and bustle), which offers a menu of artisan tea and traditional Persian flavours.
