A statement from The Royal Exchange on Her Majesty The Queen

The Royal Exchange is deeply saddened following the news from Balmoral yesterday of the loss of our beloved Sovereign Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

On Saturday, 10 September at approximately 12pm, the official proclamation of our new monarch, King Charles III, will be announced at St James’s Palace by the accession and privy councils before moving to Mansion House and onto The Royal Exchange in the heart of the City, where the formal proclamation of the accession of King Charles III will be read aloud.

It is the esteemed duty of the City of London to honour this tradition and ensure the areas around the route of the procession are secured so we can observe this profound moment in our country’s history with the greatest respect and compassion.
