Engel and Jang

Book now for these fabulous new restaurants β€” opening from Monday 8th July.

Engel β€” book now.

Celebrating the hedonism, style and flamboyance of 1920s Berlin, Engel brings the sips and sounds of a bygone era back to life in the City. Nestled on the north mezzanine of The Royal Exchange, the bar serves imaginative twists on vintage classics, with bar manager Mihai Burca and his team taking inspiration from the revolutionary characters, movements and flavours which marked the decade. Alongside these, the drinks menu features a handful of modern cocktails crafted with spirits from young and emerging brands and producers. A menu of German and Austrian bar food is available from lunch through the afternoon until late, with live musical performances taking place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in our dedicated entertainment lounge, Engel Live, influenced by the vibrant cabaret scene of the time.

Jang β€” book now.

Jang, stemming from the Korean word for sauce, celebrates the foundations to both Korean and Japanese cuisines. Taking flavours from her hometown of Gwangju as well as impressions from Seoul, Kyoto and beyond, head chef Dana Choi has created a menu that champions techniques from both countries, along with the best of British produce. Jang is an intimate and sumptuous space with nods to oriental heritage throughout, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday through Friday.
